Obituary for Norma Audrey Allison Hyson
Winnebago - Norma Audrey Allison Hyson, 91, of Winnebago, died Friday morning, March 10, 2006, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born February 26, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of Jesse and Ethel (Howard) Allison. She grew up in Danville. Norma married H. Eugene Hyson on January 16, 1934. They moved to Winnebago in 1944. She operated and owned her drapery business, Town Country Interiors. Norma was a longtime member of the Winnebago Women's Club and Rockford Women's Club. A hard worker, she loved to cook and bake, besides sewing and assisting her husband raising all their animals on five acres of land.

Norma is lovingly survived by her children, Donald (Joyce) Hyson of Winnebago, Kay (Connie Garry) Hyson of Rockford and Michael Hyson of Hilo, Hawaii, grandchildren, JaneAnn (Erik Lindstrom) Miller of Winnebago, Steve (Heidi) Hyson of Chandler, Ariz., Tim (Kim) Hyson of Rockford, Stephanie (Ozzie) Hyson-Guevara of Atlanta, Ga. and Tory (Lisa) Hyson of Toledo, Ohio, ten great-grandchildren, Nicole and Shelly Miller, Joshua and Briana Hyson, Robbie and Rachel Hyson, Keara and Keaton Guevara and Jackson and Kilie Hyson, good friends, Bette Angel and Karen Noonan, favorite bus driver, Rita Mitchell and niece, Darlene Rayki.

Norma was predeceased by her husband, H. Eugene Hyson, on January 2, 1988, son, Robert Hyson, on August 22, 1989, good friend and companion, Earl Lindsey, brother, Robert and sister, Sally.

Funeral Information

Service is at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation 1:00 p.m. until service time. The Rev. David Weissbard, pastor of Unitarian-Universalist Church in Rockford, will officiate. At Norma's request, cremation rites will be accorded. Private burial at a later date in Winnebago Cemetery, in Winnebago. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006 in the funeral home.
