Rockford - Patricia L. McCray, 61, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 30, 1953, in Sterling, the daughter of Alfred J. and Irene (Grooms) Mead. Graduated from Winnebago High School in 1971. Patty married Roger E. McCray on August 28, 1971, in Rockford. She dearly loved being a full-time Grandma, always enjoying their presence and play. Patty never missed her grandchildren's events, including sports, fair projects and showing animals, to name a few. She also enjoyed working in her flowerbeds and decorating her home on the farm with knickknacks. Vacationing at the family lake home in Arkansas was filled with treasured memories.
Patty is lovingly survived by her husband, Roger; sons, Bryan McCray of Rockford, Andy (Maren) McCray of Winnebago and Chris (Carrie) McCray of Winnebago; grandchildren, Eric Crouch, Colton McCray, Peyton, Logan and Paige McCray, Catherine, Jacob, Nathan, and Kyle McCray; mother, Irene (Marvin) Hogan of Gassville, Ark.; brothers, Bill, Mike (Sue) and Steve (June) Mead; brother-in-law, Bob (Deb Olson) Lapp; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, A.J. Mead; sister, Carol Lapp; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Myrtle McCray.
Service is at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time; the Rev. Larry Moody, pastor of Burritt Community Church, Rockford, will officiate. Cremation rites were accorded.
