Beloved Husband, Dad & Grandpa
Winnebago - Patrick J. McAlevy, 48, of Winnebago, died Saturday morning, January 31, 2009, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, after a sudden illness. Born May 4, 1960, in Chicago, the son of Robert and Carol (Jones) McAlevy. Graduated from Barrington High School in 1978. Pat married Janice Heine on May 19, 1990 in South Elgin. He was employed by Anderson Packaging Corp., in Rockford, for seven years. Pat loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends, and also enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Pat was deeply loved and is greatly missed by his wife, Janice McAlevy, of Winnebago; children, Erika (Joseph) Lowe of Rockford and Joseph (Laura) Knigge of Elgin; grandchildren, Nathan, Zachary and Kara Lowe of Rockford and Ryan Knigge of Elgin; father Robert (Lucille) McAlevy of Advance, Mo.; mother Carol McAlevy of Largo, Fla.; brother, Michael (Sue) McAlevy of Crystal Lake; sisters, Mary (Brad) Williams of South Elgin and Beth (Ron) Blankenship of Kevil, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandparents; and father and mother-in-law, Charles and Viola Heine.
Funeral Information
Service is at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2009, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time; the Rev. Amy L. Poust, pastor of Pecatonica United Methodist Church will officiate. At Pat's request, cremation rites will be accorded.
