
Obituary for Paul D. Bawinkel
Pecatonica - Paul D. Bawinkel, 76, of rural Pecatonica, died Tuesday evening, February 21, 2006, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, in Rockford, after a short illness. Born January 25, 1930, in Egan, the son of Daniel and Alice (Buttel) Bawinkel. Graduated from Leaf River High School in 1948. Paul married Dorothy Sciame on November 22, 1958, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Rockford. Dorothy died January 10, 1996. Paul married Shirley Frantz on January 25, 2002, in First Assembly of God, in Rockford. He was self-employed, operating Systems Draft Cleaning for several years. Paul enjoyed outdoor activities, especially gardening, stemming from farming in his youth.
Paul is lovingly survived by hHis wife, Shirley Bawinkel of Pecatonica, son, Daniel (Laura) Bawinkel of Roscoe, adored six-week-old grandson, Paul Bawinkel of Roscoe, stepchildren, Scott (Cindy) Frantz, Tom (Susan) Frantz, Julie (Joe) Schulz, Carol (Rocky) Fritz and Amy Moore, fourteen stepgrandchildren, sisters-in-law, Carol and Evelyn Sciame, brother-in-law, Lacy (Florence) Sciame, sister-in-law, Jean (Lynn) Spielman, father-in-law, Art Mills, and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was also predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Gordon Hannah.

Service is at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006,in Seward Congregational Church, Seward, with the Rev. Ronald C. Farb officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Rockford. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2006, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
