Obituary for Paul Eugene Vincer
Paul Eugene Vincer, 85, of Machesney Park, formerly of Winnebago and Pecatonica, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford from Myasthenia gravis.

Paul was born on May 26, 1935 in Rockford the son of William Henry and Nellie Jane (Brown) Vincer. The family moved to Winnebago when Paul was young and he attended Winnebago Public Schools. He married Sharon Davis in Loves Park in 1956. They had two children, Lauri and Jeff. They later divorced. He married Marilyn (Portner) Kaufman in 1962 and they became a family of four with her daughters Paula and Pam. They settled in Pecatonica where they would raise their children, adding Lisa and Jackie to the family a few years later. They then moved to Winnebago in the 1980's where they would reside until 2011. Marilyn preceded Paul in death in 2016.

Paul worked for many years at Ingersoll Milling Machine Company in Rockford as a Machinist. Later, he worked at Rockford Process Control in Rockford as the head of Maintenance until his retirement. He was a hard-working, dedicated employee and would often express how he wished he could go back to work even though he was in his 80's.

Paul enjoyed going to garage sales, watching NASCAR on television, fishing and catching up with old friends over a cup of good coffee. He was a man of few words but often had a joke to share.

Paul is survived by his son, Jeff Vincer of Pecatonica; his daughters, Paula (Mario) Fortunato of Pecatonica, Pam Green of Durand, Lisa (Tom) Andrew of Argyle, Jackie (Brian) Wilson of Machesney Park; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and his sister Mary Hermeling of Arizona.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn Vincer; his daughter, Lauri Vincer-Ebens; his granddaughters, Shannon Olson and Natasha Jivani; his brother, David Vincer; infant brother, Dwight Vincer; his sisters, Phyllis Hawkins, and Marilyn Bishop.
