
German Valley - Paul F. Mulder, 80, of German Valley, died Saturday afternoon, February 28, 2009, in Stephenson Nursing Center, Freeport. Born on March 4, 1928, in Freeport, the son of Frederick and Dena (Frickson) Mulder. He served in the Army from January 29, 1951 until January 21, 1953, serving in Korea and Japan. Paul married Mary R. Schoeny on March 10, 1953, in Freeport. Together, they farmed the Schoeny family farm until his retirement in 1993. Paul was a member of Silver Creek Reformed Church, having served as deacon. He loved playing Euchre.
Paul is lovingly survived by his daughter-in-law, Kriss Mulder of Dakota; granddaughters, Valerie (Dennis) Hillman of Pearl City and Jennifer (Curt Richards) Wernet of Lanark; great-granddaughters, Alexis and Morgan Lawson and Taylor Hillman, all of Pearl City; brother, Donald (Corrine) Mulder of Freeport; sister-in-law, Donna Mulder of Dakota; and special friends and caregivers, Lisa Dunn, Julie Boyd and Becky Lafferty.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Mary Mulder on December 7, 2007; son, Michael A. Mulder, on July 25, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer; and brother, Robert Mulder.
Funeral Information
Service is at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in Silver Creek Reformed Church, 326 S. Bunker Hill Road, German Valley, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time; the Rev. Randall P. Knoll will officiate. Burial in Silver Creek Cemetery, in German Valley.
