Obituary for Peggy M. Larson
Fort Collins, Colorado - Frances Margaret "Peggy" Larson, 90, formerly of Winnebago died Friday, August 19, 2016 in the Poudre Valley Hospital of Fort Collins, CO. She was born on January 21, 1926, in Rockford the daughter of Walter J. and Frances Gustaitis Devine. Graduated from Muldoon Girls School and West High School. Peggy married Fred Edmund Larson on June 1, 1957, in Saint Peter and Paul Church, Rockford. She worked as a secretary for Woodward Governor Company in Rockford. When Peggy was a young adult she was a member of the Sweet Adeline's Singing Group recording a record in New York. She volunteered at the Winnebago school district and as a reading teacher at Poudre school district in Fort Collins, CO. After Fred retired they enjoyed wintering in Arizona and she was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Peggy was a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother and aunt.

Peggy is lovingly survived by her sons, Stephen Larson of Fort Collins, CO and Christopher (Heidi Yuen) Larson of San Diego, CA; daughters, Cathleen (Jurgen "Ernie") Wissig of Rockford and Andrea (John) Staples of Chatham; grandsons, Ryan and Matthew Larson of Fort Collins, CO; granddaughters, Skylar, Kyra, Bailey Staples of Chatham; sister, Pat (Dick) Lindenberg of Delavan, WI; nieces and nephews including Goddaughter Madeleine Shebesta and Godson Gary Lindenberg.

Peggy was predeceased by her parents; husband, Fred Larson on January 30, 2002; brother, Walter "Jim" Devine in 1963; sister Rose Dupont in 1987.

Funeral Information

Service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the Genandt Funeral Home 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago with the Rev. Dr. Anita Stuart-Steva pastor of the Middle Creek Presbyterian Church of Winnebago. Burial in Willwood Burial Park in Rockford. Visitation 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the funeral home.
