Obituary for R. M. Lucille "Lucy" Bomgarden
Pecatonica R. M. Lucille Lucy Bomgarden, 90, of Pecatonica entered into heaven Monday, July 31, 2017 in her home. Born January 10, 1927 in Rockford the daughter of Oscar Delbert and Rose Ella (Dill) Hill. Lucy married John Dick Bomgarden on December 15, 1945 in the Old Stone Church in Rockton. Lucy and John raised their family in the Winnebago and Pecatonica area farming all of their lives. She loved quilting, gardening, attending New Life Bible Church and her family. Lucy and John loved fishing and wintering in Florida for many years.
Lucy is lovingly survived by her husband of 71 years, John Bomgarden; children, Joan (David) Cunningham, Daniel (Kristine) Bomgarden, Janice (Allen) Butler, Lori (Clifford) McNamer; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Hill; sisters, Ronelda Malm, Ellen Engstrom; several nephews and nieces.
Lucy is predeceased by her parents; one brother; four sisters.

A gathering of family and friends for a Celebration of Lucys Life will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017, in New Life Bible Church, 2285 N. Hoisington Rd. and Highway 20, Winnebago. Arrangements by Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago. Private funeral and interment.
