Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Friend

Ridott - Ralph W. Blunt, 77, of Ridott, died Tuesday afternoon, December 6, 2005, in FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport. Born December 22, 1927, in Oneco, the son of John and Lillian (Walter) Blunt, Jr. He last attended school in Durand Township. Ralph married Ilene Miller on August 29, 1947, in Freeport. He farmed in the Stephenson - Winnebago County area, and upon retiring, worked in maintenance, mowing grass, for the Winnebago School District and Freeport School District for several years. Together, with his wife, Ralph also cleaned the Davis Calvary Church for 16 years. With an interest in mechanics, he enjoyed working on his vehicles, loved to read, particularly comic books and loved the companionship of his dog, Rocky. A caring and devoted family man, Ralph cherished all the family gatherings.

Ralph is lovingly survived by his wife, Ilene Blunt of Ridott, sons, Lawrence "Pete" (Ruth) Blunt of German Valley, Jim (Teresa Mangrum) Blunt of Rock City and Gary Blunt of Ridott, grandchildren, John, Penny, Jason, Jenny, Tara, Megan, Kim, Cari, Lindsay, Parker and James, seven great-grandchildren, brother, Franklin (Delores) Blunt, sister, Mary Ann Loftis and many special friends

He was predeceased by his father, John Blunt, Jr., stepfather and mother, Albert and Lillian Raddatz, sister, Shirley Ann Jacobs and grandson, Jared Blunt.

Funeral Information

Service is at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2005, in Genandt Funeral Home, 145 Church St., German Valley, with the Rev. Randy Shepard, pastor of Davis Calvary Church, officiating. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery in Pecatonica. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2005 in the funeral home.
