Obituary for Raymond Francis Doyle MD
Winnebago Raymond Francis Doyle MD, 90, of Winnebago, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, September 11, 2017 at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Born February 12, 1927 in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Roland Daniel and Cecelia Bridget (McCabe) Doyle. Graduated from Waupun High School in Waupun, WI. Then the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with honors and then Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI with a Doctor of Medicine. Veteran of the United States Navy serving from February 8, 1945 to July 2, 1946 as an Electronic Technicians Mate Third Class. Ray married Marilyn Rose Griffin February of 1982 in Loves Park. Ray worked as a medical doctor, general practitioner in Watertown, WI, as a Physiatrist at the Veteran Hospital in Leavenworth, KS and then as the head of the Van Matre Rehabilitation Department at Rockford Memorial Hospital. A member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Pecatonica and St. Ambrogio Society in Rockford. A member and active participant in the Muscular Dystrophy Association having worked at many childrens camps and telethons. Ray was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed traveling in the United States and to 27 foreign countries, snow skiing, boating, playing Pickle Ball. Rays motto in life was Exercise is the fountain of youth.
Ray is lovingly survived by his wife, Marilyn Doyle of Winnebago; children, Lisa Doyle of Rockford, Katy (Win) Kaczmarek of Crystal Lake, Sheila (Ed) Jascemskas of Rockton, Felicia (Rick) Leslie of Scottsdale, AZ, Gregg DeCarlo of Rockford, Kelly (Gary) Lattimer of Winnebago; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Georgiann (Ray) Yung of Burnsville, MN; daughters-in-law, Iris Doyle of Frankfurt, Germany, Jody Doyle of Loves Park; sister-in-law, Virginia Doyle of Fond du Lac, WI; numerous nephews and nieces.
Ray is predeceased by two sons; Denis Doyle, Sean Doyle; brother, George Doyle.

Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 126 W. 5th St., Pecatonica with Fr. Steven M. Sabo, pastor of St. Peter Catholic Church in South Beloit officiating. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery in Pecatonica. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
