
Obituary for Rena May Lupps
Rena May Lupps, 105, of Pecatonica, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at home with her loving family by her side. She was born August 2, 1916 in Winnebago, the daughter of Abe and Gertie (Diepenbrock) Hieronimus. She graduated from Winnebago High School in 1935. She lived in the Winnebago, Seward and Pecatonica area all her life. Rena married Henry Mienert Lupps in Winnebago on June 26, 1943.
Rena was a switch board operator for Bell Telephone Company “Ma Bell” in Rockford, was a bookkeeper for Triple “A” in Rockford and worked as a saleslady at Corbin Elevator in Winnebago. She was the oldest member of the Seward Congregational Church where she was Deaconess, taught Sunday and Bible School and helped with the church Christmas Bazaar.
Rena and Hank farmed for over fifty years. She was a lifetime member of the Farm Bureau, a twenty year member of the Home Extension and was a volunteer on the election board. Rena was an avid seamstress, an excellent cook, enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family and friends.

Rena is lovingly survived by her foster son, Bradley (Karen) Alberts; grandchildren, Mike Kloster, Cheryl (Bernie) Guffey, Shane Wedig, Stephanie (Tom) Snyder, Kim (Brian) Fish, Cody Alberts; great-grandchildren, Michael Stahl, Mercedes Stahl, Megan Stahl, Bryce Kloster, Alex Snyder, Michelle Snyder, Brianna Fish; many nephews and nieces.
Rena is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Hank Lupps; daughter, Julie Glasser; foster sons, Kenny Scaggs, Edward Schnurr; brother, Cornelius Hieronimus; sisters, Genevieve Mullen, Alma Jane Myers.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Seward Congregational Church, 3029 S. Pecatonica Rd., Seward with Pastor Joel Hicke officiating. Cremation rites accorded with interment at Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery near Pecatonica. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established for the Seward Congregational Church.
