Obituary for Richard "Rick" Lindquist
Pecatonica – Richard “Rick” Lindquist, 86, loving husband, father and grandfather, of Pecatonica, died Thursday, May 31, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born October 16, 1931 in Rockford, the son of Arthur and Helen (Carlson) Lindquist. He graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1949. Rick married Adrienne “Abby” Mitchell on November 15, 1952 in Pecatonica. A veteran of the United States Army serving from June of 1952 through June of 1954. He was a machinist for nearly 30 years at Camcar in Rockford. During retirement he and Abby delivered flowers 11 years for Forget-Me-Not flowers in Pecatonica. Rick loved to sing and sang with the Rockford Men Singers, the Rockford Barbershoppers, multiple church choirs and the gospel trio “The Messengers”. He enjoyed paint by number pictures, golfing and visiting casinos.

Rick is survived by his wife of 65 years, Abby Lindquist; children, Diana Facer, Barbie (Greg) Doran and Paul (Holly) Lindquist all of Pecatonica; son-in-law, Bill (Tami) Parkins of Rockton; grandchildren, Chris (Jenny) Parkins, Andy (Meredith) Parkins, Angie Parkins, Carrie (Mike) Julson, Jake Holland, Adam Holland, Justin (Meghan) Doran, Madeline Lindquist and Kayla Lindquist; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly (Duane) Rakowska of Lena; sister-in-law, Joanne Lindquist of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews.

Rick is predeceased by his daughter, Pam Parkins; grandson; Ryan Rhodes; son-in-law, Robert Facer; and brother, Robert Lindquist.

A celebration of life will be Sunday, June 24, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Westlake Village Community Center, 3677 Westlake Village Drive, Winnebago. For an online obituary and tributes go to
