Obituary for Robert F. Erlandson
Pecatonica - Robert F. Erlandson, 81, of Pecatonica, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, Rockford. Born November 26, 1932, in West Chester, Penn., the son of Fritz and Anna (Leemkuil) Erlandson. He graduated from West High School, Rockford and then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Bob owned and operated barbershops at several locations in Rockford for many years. He married Mary (McCoy) Alverson on August 15, 1986 in Dixon. Bob was a member of the YMCA Retired Men's Club and was an avid bowler. Loving music, he enjoyed playing the piano, and he loved playing with his Boston terrier, Maggie.
Bob is lovingly survived by his wife, Mary Erlandson of Pecatonica; son, Mark (Kim) Erlandson and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Matthew Erlandson, all of Mount Vernon; and sister-in-law, Patti Williams of Amboy. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Shirley Moore.
Funeral Information
Service is at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014, in New Life Bible Church, 2285 N. Hoisington Rd. at U.S. Highway 20, Winnebago, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremated remains will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Amboy.
