
Obituary for Ruby M. Schuur
Seward - Ruby M. Schuur, 91, of Seward, died Monday morning, January 12, 2009, in her home, after a lengthy illness. Born August 20, 1917, in Henrietta Township, Wis., the daughter of Job and Eliza (Delmore) Klingaman. Ruby married Henry Schuur on October 5, 1934, in Belvidere. Together, they farmed for many years. Ruby supplemented the farming income by working as a kitchen aide at the Seward Grade School. She enjoyed gardening and canning her homegrown vegetables besides raising chickens.
Ruby is lovingly survived by her sons, Harold (Louise) Schuur of Freeport and Gene Schuur of Rockford; daughter, Judy Schuur of Leaf River; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, JoAnn Klingaman and Doris Rabine.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Schuur; sons, Larry and Maynard Schuur; daughter, Shirley Schuur; eight brothers and seven sisters.
Funeral Information
Service is at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2009, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 10:00 a.m., until service time; the Rev. Rick Neblock, pastor of Winnebago United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, in Pecatonica.
