Obituary for Ruth Harms
Pecatonica - Ruth Harms, 93, of Pecatonica, most recently of Sun Prairie, Wis., passed from this earth to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, February 17, 2012, from Agrace HospiceCare, Madison, Wis. Born on December 14, 1918, in Forreston, the daughter of Gabrand and Mary (Steinhagen) Bomgarden. Ruth married Elmer J. Harms on January 24, 1942, in First Evangelical Church, Forreston. Together, they farmed in the Seward area many years. She was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church, Rockford, its Bible study and Caleb's Kin seniors' group. Ruth was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing.

Ruth is lovingly survived by her children, Duane (Pat) Harms of Winnebago, Sharon Getts of DeForest, Wis. and Elden (Ronelle) Harms of Sun Prairie, Wis.; grandchildren, Tina (Rob) Casey, Cheryl (Daniel) Habegger, Tim (Nicole) Harms, Ariel (Ben) Norquist, Ashlee Harms, Kristy and David Getts; great-grandchildren, Danelle Habegger, Henrik, Soren, and Freya Norquist, and Natalie and Megan Harms; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kayley and Ashley Casey; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer, on July 6, 2003; infant son, Rodney Elmer Harms; sister, Ethel Bomgarden; and brother, Ralph Bomgarden.

Funeral Information

Service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012, in Memorial Baptist Church, 7007 Flora Road, Rockford, with the Dr. Terry L. Pergl, officiating. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.
