
Rockford - Sandra Ann Statdfield, 75, of Rockford, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous and graceful battle with cancer. Born November 29, 1937, in Amboy, the daughter of Harold and Lucille (Biggart) Armstrong. Graduated from Belvidere High School in 1956. Sandy married Jerry Q. Statdfield on November 1, 1968, in Rockton. She was a school bus driver for the Winnebago and Byron school districts for over 20 years. Sandy was a member of the Ellida Club. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping, reading, baking, and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Sandy is lovingly survived by her sons, Steve (Lisa) Taft and Jeff (Becky) Taft; daughters, Linda (Gregg) Hemish and Kathy (Tim) Kraeplin; grandchildren, Nichole, Zac and Kyle; great-grandchildren; brother, Butch (Terry) Armstrong; sister, Bev (Dale) Emery; nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Jerry, on February 1, 2007.

Service is at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago; Pastor Tim Spickler of New Life Bible Church, Winnebago, will officiate. Burial in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in the funeral home.
