
Obituary for Steven Lynn Dittmar
Steven Lynn Dittmar, 68, of Winnebago, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside in Rockford, with his family by his side. Steve was born August 4, 1953 in Freeport, the son of Delmar Edward and Rita Adele (Lewis) Dittmar. He graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1971. Steve married Audrey Virginia Sitzmann on September 21, 1990 at Grant Park in Galena, IL.
Steve was a tool maker retiring from the Chrysler Belvidere Assembly Plant. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 1268 in Belvidere, Jo Daviess County Farm Bureau and the National Rifle Association. He was an amateur photographer specializing in scenic and train photos. He loved his Sheltie dog “Bear” and his cat “Pookie”. Steve was an avid supporter of taking care of dogs and cats through the Safe Haven Humane Society in Elizabeth and would watch their Facebook Live every Tuesday night.
Steve is survived by his brothers, Richard (Peg) Dittmar of Elizabeth, Robert (Heidi) Dittmar of Elizabeth; nephews, Michael (Jonna) Dittmar, Matthew (Melissa) Dittmar, Eric Wiltshire, Terry (Kelly) Wiltshire, Terry Burbach; nieces, Merri (Trevor) Sevey, Greta Dittmar; uncle, Jim Brown; aunts, Elsie Lewis, Patricia Brown; several cousins; special friend Audrey Sitzmann-Dittmar of Rockford.
Steve is predeceased by his parents, Delmar and Rita Dittmar.
