Winnebago - Terry L. Fraley, 54, of Winnebago, died Tuesday evening, December 25, 2007, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, Rockford, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born January 7, 1953, in Rochelle, the son of Edwin and Marion (Alderks) Fraley. He graduated from Winnebago High School in 1971 and then served in the U.S. Army until December 26, 1977. Terry married LuAnn Leonard on October 4, 1975, in Pecatonica. He was a longtime employee at Clinton Electronics and most recently employed at Tractor Town in Machesney Park. Terry was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed landscaping, woodcarving, writing poetry, and dearly loved being "Papa Terry" to his grandson.
Terry is lovingly survived by his wife, LuAnn Fraley of Winnebago; children, Michelle (Neal) Shippy of Freeport and Corey Fraley of Rockford; grandson, Ethan Shippy of Freeport; mother, Marion (Robert) Fraley Wentz of Machesney Park; siblings, Mary Jo (Ray) Dyreson of Winnebago, Marcey (Bill) Fay of Winnebago, Rory (Debbie) Fraley of Twin Lakes, Wis., and Juely (Tim) Bartholomew of Rockford; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and mother-in-law, Shirley Leonard of Winnebago.
Terry was predeceased by his father, Edwin Fraley and father-in-law, Robert Leonard.
Funeral Information
Service is at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2008, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with the Rev. Ruth Lyons, pastor of Burritt Community Church, in Rockford, officiating. At Terry's request, cremation rites are accorded. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008, in the funeral home.
