
Obituary for Timothy Ross Milroy
Schaumburg - Timothy Ross Milroy, 29, of Schaumburg, formerly of Pecatonica, died Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2009, in Highland Park Hospital, after a sudden illness. Born December 31, 1979, in Rockford, the son of Ray and Darlene (Kloster) Milroy. Graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1998, achieved his bachelor's degree in 2002, majoring in sports management, and his master's degree in education in 2005, from Rockford College. Tim married his college sweetheart and love of his life, Kari Ann Johnson on September 15, 2007, in Klehm Arboretum, Rockford. He taught physical education in the special education setting at New Hope Academy, Niles, for three years, and currently at Northern Suburban Special Education District, Highland Park. Having a passion for basketball, Tim played at Pecatonica High School and Rockford College. He loved assistant coaching the women's program at Rockford College for three years and currently coaching the junior high girls' basketball team at Winnetka Park District. Enjoying all sports, Tim was a huge Illini, Cubs and Bears fan. Loving animals, Tim adored his dog, Briggs, and two cats, Russell and Bogey.
Tim is lovingly survived by his wife, Kari Milroy of Schaumburg; parents, Ray and Darlene Milroy of Pecatonica; parents-in-law, Donald and Vicky Johnson of Belvidere; sisters, Stacey (Larry) Schaller and Laura (Shawn) Maher, both of Winnebago; brother-in-law, Jeremy Johnson of Belvidere; five nieces and nephews, Ethan, Avery and Brady Schaller and Ella and Charlotte Maher; grandfather, Donald Ray Milroy, Sr. of Carbondale; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Jake and Eunice Kloster and Anna Milroy.
Funeral Information
Memorial service is at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2009, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago with the Rev. Ben Kidder, pastor of The River, in Minong, Wis., officiating. At Tim's request, he was a tissue, bone and research donor. Cremation rites were accorded. Visitation 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2009, in Pecatonica Middle School, 1200 Main Street, Pecatonica.
