Obituary for Virginia A. Rice
Rockford - Virginia A. Rice, 89, of Rockford, died Monday afternoon, November 29, 2010, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born April 8, 1921, in Omaha, Nebr., the daughter of Frank and Mabel (Johnson) Goodrich. She graduated from Lincoln Tech High School, in Omaha and then a beauty school. Virginia married Leslie Rice on October 5, 1990, in Machesney Park. She was a member of Ambec. Virginia loved crocheting and knitting.
Virginia is lovingly survived by her husband, Leslie Rice of Rockford; son, Donald (Pat) Hampl of Omaha; daughter-in-law, Sandy Hampl of Roscoe; grandchildren; Tom and Heather Hampl of Omaha, Dennis Hampl Jr, and Tammy Hampl of Roscoe, Tracy (Mike) Battaglia of Machesney Park, and Kevin (Angel) Hampl of Rockford; six great-grandchildren and one great-grandbaby on the way; and stepdaughters, Jeanine and Nancy Rice, both of Rockford. She was predeceased by her son, Dennis Hampl.

Service is at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2010, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time; Pastor Tim Spickler of Church, New Life Bible Church, Winnebago, will officiate. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery.
