
Beloved Dad, Grandpa, Son, Brother and Uncle
Rockford - Wayne T. Davis, 73, of Rockford, passed Friday, May 4, 2012, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, after a short illness. Born January 19, 1939, in Rockford, the son of Orval and Helen (Taunis) Davis. Graduated from West High School in 1957 and attended Southern Illinois University. Wayne was a mechanic and service manager for Bill Hembrough Buick for many years. In addition he was a newspaper carrier for the Rockford Register Star for more than 25 years, retiring in 2007. Most recently Wayne worked for the Rockford Park District for 15 years, retiring in 2004. Early in his life, he enjoyed coaching and playing slow-pitch softball. Loving anything with a motor, Wayne enjoyed racing drag cars, snowmobiling and driving golf carts. He also enjoyed NASCAR, fishing with his friends, playing cards and visiting casinos.
Wayne is lovingly survived by his life partner of 30 years, Lorraine "Laf" Falconer of Rockford; children, Bobby Davis of Winnebago, Debra Demus of Rockford and Gary (Sue) Davis of Winnebago; grandchildren, Megan and Samantha "Sam" Davis, Easton Demus, and Jordan and Courtney Davis; mother, Helen Davis of Rockford; sister, Lynn (Maurice) Johnson of Loves Park; brothers, Jim (Pam) Davis of Roscoe and Orval "Kip" (Sue) Davis of Machesney Park; several nieces and nephews; and Laf's extended family. Predeceased by his father.

Funeral Information
Service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 4:00 p.m. until service time; the Rev. Ronald C. Farb, pastor of Seward Congregational Church, will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded.
