
Obituary for William F. Glenny
Winnebago - William F. "Bill" Glenny, 87, of Winnebago, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with myositis. Born November 5, 1926, in Rockford, the son of Carl and Margaret (Foote) Glenny. Graduated from Rockford West High School in 1944. Bill married Geraldine Landolt on November 21, 1947. He was a lifetime farmer and cattle feeder. In addition, Bill was a Mutual Insurance agent and director. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and longtime member at First Baptist Church, Rockford. In former years, he enjoyed working with the Livestock Feeder's Association.
Bill is lovingly survived by his wife, Geraldine; children, Dr. W. Edward (Jacqueline) Glenny of Shoreview, Minn. and Margaret (Christopher) Metras of Dunbar, Wis.; daughter-in-law, Patricia Glenny of Wilmington, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Camilla Lightfoot of Rockford; and two nieces. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Rev. Dr. Richard Glenny; and brothers-in-law, Duane Lightfoot and Herschel (Jean) Landolt.

Service is at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2014, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 1:30 p.m. until service time; the Rev. David Huffstutler, pastor of First Baptist Church, Rockford, will officiate. Private burial in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford.
