Obituary for Zora D. Germain
Rock City - Zora D. Germain, 98, of Rock City, died Saturday, September 25, 2010, in Medina Nursing Center, Durand. Born March 11, 1912, in rural Pecatonica at the north gate of Westlake, the daughter of Charles and Veida (Johnson) Anderson. She graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1930. Zora married Marvin Germain in 1931. Together, they farmed all their life. She enjoyed baking, quilting and traveling through most of the states and Canada with Larry and Wanda.
Zora is lovingly survived by her children, Frances Jansen of Evarts and Larry Germain of Pecatonica; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; Sister, LaVonne Colloton of Sterling; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Zora was predeceased by her husband, Marvin Germain, on December 29, 1969; sons, Lowell and Loran Germain; daughter-in-law, Wanda L. Germain; and sister, Doris Meyers.
Funeral Information
Service is at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time. The Rev. Terry L. Theiss, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Pecatonica, will officiate. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, in Pecatonica.
