Loving Mom and Grandma

Winnebago - Virginia E. "Ginny" Falnes, 76, of Winnebago, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, in her home, surrounded by her loving family and her faithful dog, Angel. Born November 25, 1938, in Richland Center, WI, the daughter of Clifford and Dorthea (Cook) Goad. Attended grade school at Badger Village, WI, graduated from high school in Prairie du Sac, WI and beauty school at Milwaukee School of Beauty Culture, Madison, WI. Ginny married Donald L. Falnes on August 22, 1959, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Rockford. She worked 20 years as a hairdresser, one year for Eclipse Engineering and retired from Farm Fleet after 28 years of employment. Ginny was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Winnebago for 25 years, involved with Christian Education and served as elder, and then a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church since 2002, serving as deacon, on the Missions committee and taught adult Sunday school. She enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, and dearly loved being with her grandchildren and watching all their sporting events. Ginny cheered and supported the entire teams' achievements and her family would encourage any players in attendance of her visitation and service to dress in their team jerseys.

Ginny is lovingly survived by her son, Craig (Darci) Falnes of Rockford; grandchildren, Brody and Samantha Falnes of Rockford; brother, Jerry (Mary) Goad of Janesville, WI; sister, Roberta (Warren) Schumacher of Milwaukee, WI; special brother-in-law, Gary (Patty) Falnes of Fenton, MI; sister-in-law, Sandy (Glen) Turnbull of Machesney Park; brothers-in-law, Boyd Rynes of Yuba, WI, and Ken Volz of Baraboo, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; stepfather, Leonard Mudica; husband, Don, on March 25, 1995; daughter, Mindy Falnes in 1996; son, Scott Falnes in 2010; brothers, Gene, James and Gordon Goad; and sisters, Juanita Rynes and Jody Volz.

Ginny's family gives special thanks to all her caregivers: Gary and Patty Falnes, Sandy and Glen Turnbull, Suzie Hall, Lorri Loomis, Jerry Goad and Joy (Goad) Wright, along with the Heartland Hospice nurses, especially Deb and Lindsay, for their loving care and support.
