Obituary for Gloria R. Miller
German Valley Gloria R. Miller, 89, of German Valley died Friday, May 27, 2016, in Stephenson Nursing Center, Freeport. Born June 10, 1926, in Ridott Township, the daughter of Daniel and Helen (Cordes) Bawinkel. Graduated from Pleasant Prairie Academy in 1943. Gloria married Henry J. Miller in Buffalo Center, Iowa, on June 10, 1944. Together they farmed in the German Valley area. In addition, Gloria was a telephone operator until 1950, and then was a nursing assistant for many years. She was a member of Silver Creek Reformed Church and the Silver Creek Womens Ministry.
Gloria is lovingly survived by three daughters, Sandra (Floyd) Derby of German Valley, Kathleen (Rodney) Meier of Gilbert, Arizona and Lorraine (Richard) Gann of Leaf River; two sons, Daniel (Lori) Miller of Forreston and Thomas (Susan) Miller of Ridott; grandchildren, Robert (Ricardo) and Jason (Mary) Derby, Vincent and Eva Meier, Crystal (Zachary McKee), Ryan and Matthew (Sara Coulman) Gann, Lucas (Tessa), Jonathan (Heidi), Joseph (Kristin), and Nathan Miller and Amanda (Mark) Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Meier, Madison Derby, Ava, Owen and Ella Miller, Avriel Miller, Tanner Gann, Emery and Mace Miller, and Paisley and Payton Anderson; sister, Beulah (Harry) Foley; brothers, Dennis and LaVerne (Connie) Bawinkel. Predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Miller, on November 14, 1992; infant son, David Miller; and grandsons, Carlton Derby and David Gann.

Service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, in Silver Creek Reformed Church, 326 S. Bunker Hill Rd., German Valley, with the Rev. Grant Mulder officiating. Burial in Silver Creek Cemetery, German Valley. Visitation 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in the church.
